Young Blood

Produced and directed by Chris Wagstaff. The music video was shot primarily in the Roseau Valley region of St. Lucia among the banana plantations and adjacent to the Distillery.

The small town dubbed " Hollywood" was selected for the backdrop as it evokes the underlying thread for the video. Hollywood is officially the poorest town in St. Lucia. The woodland/headland location also featured in the video was a rough Atlantic coast shore called "Cas-en-Bas" and was selected because little development would be evident in the shots.

The people portrayed in the video are real life residents of this ghetto neighborhood of "Hollywood," including the boy Brian and his mother, who actually lived on the street where we filmed. The girl, Tori, was selected from a group assembled in the north of the island and had no prior theatrical training or experience.

The untrained cast responded surprisingly well to direction, particularly the boy, though the mother was a little more challenging given that she didn't speak english, only the local form of patois which called for a little help with translation to aid her brief appearance.
